These bags consist of candy of course, a CLC magnet, a card that tells of our next sermon series and a brief description of our Kids Life Ministry. We also added a few other items for kiddos.

We will be distributing the bags in neighborhoods on Friday, October 31st.
Today we had our quarterly KIDMIN MINI SEMINAR and it was awesome. I appreciate the great participation in this event. We shared many ideas for the upcoming year of 2015 and discussed how we will close out 2014. I just want to say what an honor it is for me to be partnering with parents, grandparents, etc on this journey of guiding precious hearts to the Lord.

Let's finish strong in the year of 2014!
All the kiddos got to tell me how they do all their chores through the week and did not complain. They remembered to do the work with a happy heart as if they were working for the Lord. Good job kids!

On Sunday we also started our new series. This series is called the "Shoe Box". I have put the outline of the series below.

Week one | Why We Give Giving is an essential part of the Christian life. We give because God gave us his son. We could never have paid the debt for our sins, so Jesus paid it for us by dying on a cross. God wants us to give out of gratitude for that gift so that we can be a blessing to others.

Week two | Who We Help When we give to those in need, we think of the homeless and the poor. We don’t think of giving to Jesus, but that’s exactly what Jesus said we are doing. Jesus knows what it’s like to be in need, and when we give, we are really giving to Jesus. We may never know who receives our gift, but when we give to the least of these, we are giving to the Lord.

Week three | What’s In It for Me When we are asked to give of our time, money, or something else, the first question we usually ask is, “What’s in it for me? What do I get in return?” Earthly investments bring earthly gains. Not so with the kingdom of God. We have already received far more than we could ever invest in Jesus. We need to give not to get, but give out of gratitude for what Christ did for us.

Week four | Outside the Box Everyone’s a cheerful giver at Christmas, but when the holidays end, giving drops dramatically. Giving isn’t something to pack away with the Christmas tree. People are in need all year long. We need to give all year long!

It is our hope to remind the kids why we give. Explaining to them that we should try every day to be an example of who Jesus is.

Praying that you and your kiddos have an absolute amazing week!

And as always...thank you sharing your kiddos with us!

I have attached a bit of the lesson so that you can go back over it with your kiddos. They were challenged this week to do whatever chore is asked of them and to do with a happy heart. This coming Sunday, I will see what they did and if they were able to do it without complaining. AND to see who remembers the verse.

BOTTOM LINE: We need to do all work as if working for the Lord
OBJECTIVE: Kids hopefully did learn why we need to do work as if we were working for God.
KEY PASSAGE: Colossians 3:23-24. Work for the Lord.
MEMORY VERSE: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord...” - Colossians 3:23 (NIV)
SUMMARY: Work isn’t always easy, but it doesn’t have to be a drag. God wants us to work as if we are working for him. Work can be a chance to praise God with our actions and share the good news of Jesus with others.
SIMPLE PRAYER: Dear God, Forgive us for the times we have a bad attitude about work. Teach us to work as if we are working for you. Amen

Make this week’s lesson real: When it’s time to work this week, have everyone check his or her attitude. Who are you working for? Is it easy to readjust your attitude to work for God - especially when you don’t feel like working.?
Here are some great discussion starters:
Why does God want us to do our work for him?
How can working for God be a witness to other people?
Are there any jobs that we can’t do for God?

Review the verse with your kiddos before bed time. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord... - Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

PARENT TIME: What you need to know: Your kids learn best from your example, not what you say. Take a moment to pray on your way to work each day this week that God will give you a better attitude about work.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8959538857832341276.post-22928497878426425942014-08-26T15:32:00.004-05:002014-08-26T15:32:59.040-05:00A new school year has begun! It is hard to believe that all the kiddos are back in school. We hope you all had a great start this week and we will continue to have you in our daily prayers.

With that said, I am hoping to be able to get this blog back up to date!
Ms. PamUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8959538857832341276.post-73437667004738897372014-06-26T13:15:00.002-05:002014-06-26T13:17:44.511-05:00In my experience, the month of June is a crazy month for numbers. It seems folks head out on vacation to enjoy some relaxation and family time. So, our kid count is up and down and has no rhyme or reason. For example, our Wednesday night program began the first part of June with 32 kiddos. For us, that is a great number for Wednesday nights. Then, it went to 18, and then to 8! But I am happy to say that yesterday, we come up to 21. Yay for us!

If anything I just want to encourage you to stay positive. Don't let the low numbers get you down for the month of June. It will pick back up after the 4th of July. So use this time to get organized. Use this time to fellowship more with your volunteers. Prepare for the fall!

Thank you to all the faithful folks that serve in KidMin. Thank you to all the parents who share your kiddos with us! God Bless.
But, I am making it my goal to post at least twice a week. Not sure how many folks actually even read it. But, I like to do it. I hope every one has been having a great month of June. We have started our Wednesday evening services and the first one was absolutely amazing. We had 32 kiddos which is a great start. I am looking forward to this summer program.

Have a great day!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8959538857832341276.post-72123981168684218872014-03-04T14:43:00.000-06:002014-03-04T14:43:53.349-06:00We did our first lesson on the series "Friends". The kids had a great time learning about the friendship between Jonathan and David. We talked about what being a true friend really means and the kind of friend that Jesus wants us to be. They were able to learn a few facts about the duo that they did not know.

Here are a few discussion starters for you and your kiddos. Ask them:

What other choices could Jonathan have made besides being loyal to David?

Do you think Jonathan would have become king if he had betrayed David?

Next week, we discuss Philip and Nathaniel, 1 John 1:43 - 51.

Review this month's verse with your kiddos and help them find it in the Bible.

March is now upon us. And for me, I am looking forward to warmer weather. The month of February the Kids Life scripture verse was from Luke 10:27. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind"...

For March, we will be doing a series on Friends. Our scripture verse for the month is from Proverbs 17:17 which is "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Please help your kiddos learn this verse as we will be learning the meaning of it through out the month.

Sunday, March 2nd, we will be discussing David and Jonathan and going through 1 Samuel chapter 20. I have posted the lesson in the lesson section of this blog. Please feel free to go to it and perhaps review it with your child.

The lessons for the rest of the month of March will follow weekly.

I look forward to doing this series with your kiddos.

Blessings to you all...and as always...thank you for sharing your kiddos with us!
A holiday that some call silly and just a greeting card money making day! Well regardless if you think it is a waste of time and money, or if you are one of those that glow from the love of this day, the Bible has some great lessons of love, forgiveness, and praying for our enemies. This is what our focus has been over the last few weeks. We have so far studied Joseph and Zaccheus. Click on the lesson section from our blog and see what your kiddos have been discussing and learning in SuperKids classes.

Our scripture verse for the month of February is Luke 10:27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Talk with your kids and see what they are remembering from Sunday Classes.
The Lord told Moses to camp by this sea when he led the Israelites out of Egypt. God also enabled Moses to part the water of this sea so the Israelites could cross to the other side. You can find the answer in Exodus 14. Hope you are all having a Super Terrific Saturday! Yesterday's answer to the daily question was David. Did you have fun reading about this little shepherd boy you became a man after God's on heart? I hope so. Today you will read about another man. The question is: What man ate locust for food in the Bible? You can read about him in Matthew 3. Hope you and your kiddos are having fun with this and at the same time learning a bit about the Bible and the people in it.
I was a shepherd and killed and lion and a bear to protect my flocks. I became King of Israel and wrote many of the Psalms. Who am I? Places to look are 1 and 2 Samuel and of course the Psalms.

It is good for public schools. Kids who learn self-control and respect for authority are a blessing in any classroom.
– Children’s Ministry Tip: Teach kids that God expects these character traits from his followers. Explain how the “fruits of the spirit” relate to the way they behave at school.

It is good for homeschoolers. Children’s ministry provides another social outlet and opportunities to experience learning in a large group.
– Children’s Ministry Tip: Be aware of homeschoolers and work to make them feel welcome.

Mission project actually do good to others. When kids plan and do ministry projects these can be powerful acts of mercy.
– Children’s Ministry Tip: Plan projects that relieve real suffering. These may be harder, but they are worth the extra effort.

Good for society. Children who understand God’s moral law and how to love their neighbors will make the world a better place.
– Children’s Ministry Tip: Teach the children how obeying God and loving their neighbors will make the world a better place.

It is good for the christian movie industry. Christian booksellers have created a demand for family friendly cinema. Veggie Tales did change the video industry for the better and you should not underestimate the role of children’s ministry in spreading an interest in these type videos.
– Children’s Ministry Tip: Occasionally promote a quality movie (or video series). Consider a church family outing to see it together.

It is good for kids book publishing industry. Children’s story Bibles and similar resources were created because parents (and churches) were looking for this type of material.
– Children’s Ministry Tip: Make these resources available to parents in your ministry. Occasionally teach from a story Bible and recommend it for families to use at home.

It is good for their future spouses. Children who learn to love their neighbors and follow Jesus in all of life will be ready for marriages that last a lifetime. These values must begin when to be learned early in life.
– Children’s Ministry Tip: Don’t skip the commandments about adultery. Tell children that marriage is important to God and it’s for your whole life.

It is good for their future employers. Hard work and self-control are virtues that the Bible assumes all Christians will demonstrate. Children’s ministry helps produce adults who love Jesus and follow his Word.
– Children’s Ministry Tip: Share stories of church member who have reputations for being hard working. Explain that our work glorifies God when we do our best.

I am going to post a daily question here on the blog and also on our Kids Life face book page. This question could be a who am I, where is it, or what is it all coming from the Bible. I hope this will help you open up discussions with your kiddos regarding the Bible. The Bible is a book full of history. History we should be learning and sharing with our kids. So, get ready! The first question is coming soon.
Sunday will be our last lesson from this series. It will be the parable of the Good Samaritan. A great story about how God wants us to love others, no matter who they are. I will post all the parable lessons in the lesson section soon. They are great stories to always remember and to review with your kiddos.
Love you all...and as always...thanks for sharing your kiddos with us.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8959538857832341276.post-18901235153991853902013-06-22T19:09:00.000-05:002013-06-22T19:09:08.491-05:00Vacation Bible Xtreme is coming! And, if you had kiddos in class today you can see what they discussed and what they got to do.
I have been out of town but now trying to get caught up with all my postings and of course paper work. I will be posting some of the lessons we have been doing at CLC with our kiddos. Pastor Rick has been doing a teaching on the healings and miracles of Jesus. So, we too, in Kids Life have been doing the same teaching. It has been a lot of fun and the kiddos have enjoyed the object lessons and activities that have gone along with the lessons. I love watching the kids respond to the stories in the bible on the miracles of Jesus. They just take it in and there isn't any doubt that Jesus did what it says He did. I wish we adults could believe without any doubt that miracles do happen and that they can happen to us!

I pray every day for all the folks that work so hard and give their time to teach the kiddos about the word of God. You truly are special in the eyes of many and definitely in the eyes of our God. God Bless You All!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
